有關英國簽證的重大消息

今天來自英國政府的最新消息，若來英國只待6個月內的台灣人，只需拿著台灣護照就可以來英國觀光，不需要再付簽證費了。說真的，對台灣人來說真的是一大福音，要不然之前的簽證費真多，以下是資料來源，皮老師就把提到台灣人的部份列出來並翻譯，若翻譯不好請見諒(羞~)

New countries face tough visa rules (http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/newcountriesfacetoughvisarules) 在最後一段提到: The visa regime for Taiwanese passport holders wil be lifted as a result of the Visa Waiver Test. This will take effect from 3 March 2009.

由於免簽檢驗(the Visa Waiver Test)， 對持台灣護照者的簽證制度將會解除限制。這項規定將從2009年3月3號實施。

Written Ministerial Statement - Visa Waiver test outcomes (http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/siteconte...outcomeswms.pdf) 在中間第九行提到: We have also concluded that Taiwan presents a low migration risk and we will be lifting the visitor visa requirement for Taiwan passport holders coming to the UK for less than six months, and who are not seeking to work. This will take effect from 3 March.

我們也認定台灣為一個低移民風險的國家，因此，針對待在英國少於6個月以下，且不是在英國找工作的持有台灣護照擁有者，我們將解除他們觀光簽證的要求。這項規定將從3月3號開始。

至於什麼是Visa Waiver Test?英國為了要瞭解簽證制度是否應用在正確的地方，因此，在2007年3月開始實行Visa Waiver Test，除了歐洲經濟體的國家(也就是使用歐元的國家)之外，每個國家都被列入考量。Visa Waiver Test，可以翻譯為'簽證放棄檢驗'，不過皮老師比較喜歡翻譯為'免簽檢驗'。

後來也看到這制度的相關細節(http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/resources/en/news/visafreeaccesstaiwanesevisitors)，裡面提到: Taiwanese visiting the UK after 3 March 2009 must still satisfy UK authorities at the port of entry that they meet the admission requirements on arrival in the UK.  As with all those who can visit the UK without a visa, they must carry with them in their hand luggage relevant supporting documents such as flight tickets, evidence of funding, letters from sponsors or businesses they are visiting, or the school they plan to study at.

在2009年3月3後拜訪英國的台灣人，仍然必須達到在英國機場入境處的入境人員要求。不需要簽證而能拜訪英國的旅客，他們必須在他們的手提包攜帶相關的輔助文件，例如飛機票、財力證明、邀請信來自於要拜訪的贊助者或公司，或是計劃就讀的學校。

看到後來，還是需要一些相關文件，只是把簽證費省下來，而原本在台灣要辦好的觀光簽，也變為類似落地簽。英國政府釋出這樣的大消息，希望哪天歐盟國家也釋出這樣的大消息，這樣台灣人就能一本護照在歐洲'趴趴造'  XDD
